Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My TBR I Predict will b 5-Star Reads

Top Ten Tuesday

It’s been a very long time since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday – so long in fact I didn’t even realize it had transferred over to That Artsy Reader Girl. But as part of my attempt to get back into blogging regularly, I decided to try these weekly posts again (and give my readers who may not be Shakespeare fans something else to read).

This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on My TBR I Predict will be 5 Stars. This topic is not an easy one – and not the least of which because I have such a long TBR list! But, here are the 10 I’ve selected, which I believe (or at least hope) will be 5 Star reads (in no particular order).

Top 10 Books on My TBR I Predict will be 5 Stars

  1. The City of Zirdai by Maria V. Snyder – This won’t be out until June (in Australia, who knows when it will be available in the States) but I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I’ve loved every one of Snyder’s books, and I thought The Eyes of Tamburah may be one of my favorites yet. I have no doubt this one will be 5 stars.
  2. House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas – This will finally be coming out in March and it feels like I’ve been waiting forever. Like Snyder, Maas has never let me down and I full anticipate this new series will be no exception. I cannot wait to read it!
  3. Becoming by Michelle Obama – It’s taken me so long to get to this book, which makes me sad. I’ve been wanting to read it since it came out but it keeps falling further down on the list. However, I expect when I finally get to it I’m going to love it.
  4. Peace Talks by Jim Butcher – We’ve been waiting 6 years for a new installment in the Dresden Files and now we’re finally down to just under 6 months. I am so impatient to finally get to read this. Every novel in this series has been better than the one before it and I fully expect I will love this one as well.
  5. The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow – I have heard so many wonderful things about this book that I’m really looking forward to finally getting a chance to read it. It sounds exactly like my kind of book, and I would be surprised if I did not love it.
  6. The Book of Dreams by Nina George – I loved the first two books by George. This one seems very different in plot than those, but I’m optimistic that it will still be an enjoyable read.
  7. I’ll be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara – I do not read a lot of true crime, and I’ve been slow on picking this one up due to it’s dark subject matter, however I fully expect to be impressed when I finally read it. I’ve heard too many good things about it to expect any different.
  8. The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty – I confess, The City of Brass was only a 4-star review for me, but I did enjoy the book. I’m hoping that the second installment improves on the first.
  9. The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin – The first book of Jemisin’s Broken Earth Trilogy was fantastic, and I’ve heard all three books in the series are equally brilliant. I’m hoping this is true because I’m really looking forward to continuing the series.
  10. Storm of Locusts by Rebecca Roanhorse – The first book in this series was only a 4-star book for me, but I’ve heard that the second is even better than the first and smooths out some of the rougher edges from her first novel. I’m looking forward to seeing if this is true.
