The first trailer for The Desolation of Smaug was released today, and to say I am excited would be an understatement.
I realize some fans think Jackson’s decision to make the film into three parts was unnecessary, but I honestly don’t mind having more Hobbit screentime. If that’s what Jackson felt it would take to tell the story well, then I trust him. I also love that he’s pulling in information from the appendices and trying to tell the entire story of what was happening in Middle Earth at the time, and not just the dwarves and Bilbo’s tale. Plus the cast is amazing, and I am looking forward to having Orlando Bloom back as Legolas.
I’ve been counting down for this movie since the minute An Unexpected Journey ended. This film looks like it will be just as amazing as the first and I for one cannot wait until December 13th.
